25-Hour Clock

Containment Report
  • ‘Nominated Person’ to secure themself inside Containment Cell between the hours of 2am and 4am GMT (+0:00)
  • Minimise personnel in close proximity to Containment Cell 333 during the hours of 2am and 4am where possible.
  • Daily inspection of containment doors for damage

Appearance:

A small digital alarm clock. Steel grey plastic-moulded case, black face with crimson LED number display.

333 3

Description:

Item 333 is a gateway to a ‘pocket reality’ that seems to exist somewhere between 3:33am and 3:34am. Proximity based, it will only affect the person closest to it at exactly 3:33am. Brief tests during initial processing did not establish any limit to this ability, with the maximum distance tested successfully at 230m. Aside from this passive effect, it seems to function as a regular alarm clock. If the batteries are removed, it will cease to operate, but its passive effect will remain.

Pocket Reality 333:

It has proved extremely difficult to prove any claims regarding Pocket Reality 333 - the place/time individuals closest to Item 333 experience. Witness testimonies all agree on the following:

  • Nothing electrical will function
  • All other people will be asleep and impossible to move by conventional means
  • Liquid or gas based services will not function (clean water, foul water, gas) and water will not pour from a glass
  • There is a hostile entity within Pocket Reality 333.
  • Time within Pocket Reality 333 varies, but typically ‘feels’ between one to three hours. [Note - a temporal watch has been unable to confirm this, as although it functioned, it constantly showed the time as ‘error’.]

Surveillance footage does not pick up any activity during this time period, but individuals can be seen in different positions and locations - their entry and exit points to Pocket Reality 333 rarely matching up.

Human observation seems to have some influence over this Item. Whilst in the sight line of a human observer who had their eyes open, subjects reported they could not leave Pocket Reality 333 until they stepped out of sight. As with everything else in Pocket Reality 333, there has been no way to confirm this.

Entity 333:

Item 333 was recovered by the Ministry following the disappearances of two civilians, believed to have somehow become ‘lost’ in Pocket Reality 333. It was not until further testing during initial processing that the existence of a hostile entity was first raised by witnesses. Witness descriptions follow:

Some kind of deer-man with bright lights for eyes. As soon as I saw him, his eyes sort of ‘turned on’ and he stared at me, moving closer.” - Alan Pierson, Guard

Approximately 7-8 foot tall. Figure has antlers, a deer’s skull, and eyes appear to emit extremely bright light. Figure was floating and slowly approaching.” - Dr Eileen Hampsell

“...was closer this time. Still approaching. Eyes followed me, which was very unsettling. Difficult to be certain, as lights are blinding and I had a strong compulsion to look away, but its body appeared humanoid. Skin/clothes were very tattered and rotten. Toes did touch the ground, but the entity didn’t walk. Appeared to be floating/sliding towards me.” - Dr Eileen Hampsell

“Entity 333 was approximately 5m away from me. I noticed some of the screws turning themselves loose in the frame of the containment unit, and the reinforced glass was bending and flexing. I believe Containment Cell 333 will need to be considerably modified.” - Dr Eileen Hampsell

Dr Eileen Hampsell withdrew from further testing following her sixth visit to Pocket Reality 333. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Item 333, somebody had to be nominated to be the closest person when 3:33am came around the following night. At this time, Containment Cell 333 consisted of a bed for the ‘Nominated Person’ to sleep in, and a table with Item 333 placed atop. On recorded surveillance footage, Alan Pierson can be seen waiting at 3:33:59am, and vanishing completely at 3:34:00am. The door to the Containment Cell was open, and the bedsheets were on the floor.

It is unknown precisely what Entity 333 does when it eventually reaches its target, but based on the disappearance of Alan Pierson it can be inferred to be undesirable. As Entity 333 gets closer to an individual, it appears to exert an increasingly powerful psychic influence over any barriers between itself and the individual. The limits of this ability are unconfirmed, and [MANAGEMENT] prevents any testing beyond 6 (six) visits once an individual becomes a target for Entity 333.

Becoming a target appears to rely on observation. Entity 333 is seemingly unaware of any individual until that same individual has witnessed it. Witnesses report that the lights of Entity 333’s eyes are closed, immediately flaring open as soon as they see it for the first time. In subsequent visits to Pocket Reality 333, Entity 333 will always be aware of any individual who has witnessed it prior.

For this reason, any witnesses to Entity 333 must have this recorded in their Ministry Personnel file.

Current Containment:

Following the disappearance of Alan Pierson, Item 333 was relocated to a more secure containment cell. There are a series of 5 (five) locked doors, with different mechanisms of opening. In order from exterior to interior:

  • Electronic fingerprint scanner
  • Electronic voice recognition lock
  • Electronic number pad
  • Hatch with mechanically operated wheel lock (interior facing)
  • Reinforced steel door locked with a key given to the ‘Nominated Person’

Common practise is for the ‘Nominated Person’ to be unaware of the existence of Entity 333, but to be warned that they must stay inside Containment Cell 333 until the clock reads 3:34am.Considerable damage had been dealt to the various doors of Containment Cell 333 when the ‘Nominated Person’ had previously witnessed Entity 333. For this reason it is hypothesised that eventually, Entity 333 will be able to force or otherwise manoeuvre itself into any containment cell, given enough time. There are no such attempts when the ‘Nominated Person’ has not witnessed it, hence the preference.

Potential Applications:

It has been theorised that Item 333 could allow an individual to relocate themselves anywhere within one to three hours walking distance. Starting in Containment Cell 333 at 3:33am, they could hypothetically ‘teleport’ to anywhere within Floor Fifty-Four (or beyond, given the right circumstances) at 3:34am.

This ability could be increased by ensuring human observation throughout. If there were means to transport a human (who was awake at 3:33am), and ensure constant eye contact, there would hypothetically be no limit to the distance that could be travelled. A second in our time; hours, days or months in Pocket Reality 333.

The other key obstacle would be Entity 333. It is believed that removing all barriers between yourself and it (stepping out into open air), dramatically accelerates whatever process Entity 333 is attempting. Providing the ‘Nominated Person’ does not witness Entity 333, however, the threat is eliminated.

If there was a way to overcome both challenges, then - hypothetically - it would be possible to [Remaining data classified]
